OCEAN OF MEDICINE intimate aya retreat I Peru
With Capitan Blez, Maestra Maribel and Maestro César
November 14 - 20, 2026
🌊 OCEAN OF MEDICINE
Shipibo Wisdom · Pacific Ocean · Inner Exploration
✨ 7 Days · 6 Nights · 3 Ceremonies · Only 3–5 Participants
🌴 Imagine experiencing the ancestral wisdom of the Amazon while staying in a beautiful beachfront villa, just steps away from the Pacific Ocean. Welcome to Ocean of Medicine, an intimate retreat bringing together the living plant medicine tradition of the Shipibo people and the untamed beauty of Peru’s northern coast.
🏝️ Our home for this experience is a private beachfront villa directly on Las Pocitas, one of Peru’s most beautiful beaches, just 10 minutes from Máncora. Wake up to the sound of the waves, enjoy the ocean breeze, swim in the Pacific and spend your days surrounded by tropical nature.
🌊For seven days and six nights, you will join a small circle of just 3–5 participants for three ayahuasca ceremonies guided by two experienced Shipibo curanderos, accompanied by their traditional icaros, the ceremonial songs that are an essential part of Shipibo practice.
The retreat is facilitated by Capitan Blez, co-founder of Psychonauta Foundation, with 10 years of experience leading retreats in Peru, supporting participants through preparation, the retreat experience and integration.
It is an invitation to experience the meeting of ancestral wisdom, ceremonial work and the immense presence of the natural world.
🌿 THE MEDICINE. THE OCEAN. THE JOURNEY WITHIN.
The Shipibo people of the Peruvian Amazon hold a rich living tradition of plant knowledge, ceremonial practices, music and art.
During our ceremonies, two experienced Shipibo curanderos guide the process through their traditional practices and icaros. Their songs are an integral part of the ceremonial experience, creating space for introspection, connection and personal exploration.
🌱 For this retreat, we have selected a distinctive batch of ayahuasca from our collection, prepared during the 2026 season. The ceremonies will be guided by our Shipibo curanderos, with appropriate preparation, screening and attention to participant safety.
🌊 And then there is the ocean.
After a night of ceremony, the day offers a different rhythm: natural light, fresh air, the movement of the waves and the freedom to spend time outdoors.
Walk barefoot along the beach. Swim in the Pacific. Watch the changing light over the water. Practice yoga, explore the coastline or simply give yourself time to rest and reflect.
The ocean is not a replacement for the ceremonial process. It is the natural environment in which this experience unfolds, offering opportunities for movement, quiet reflection and connection with the world around you.
💫 WHO IS OCEAN OF MEDICINE FOR?
This retreat is designed for people who feel drawn to the Shipibo plant medicine tradition and want to explore it in an intimate coastal setting.
It may be particularly appealing if you:
🌿 Feel called to explore plant medicine but prefer a comfortable coastal setting rather than traveling deep into the Amazon jungle.
🌊 Feel connected to the ocean and want to combine ceremonial nights with days spent in nature.
🧭 Are curious about your inner world and want to step away from everyday routines, slow down and make space for personal reflection.
🏄 Love adventure and the outdoors and would enjoy combining inner exploration with surfing, yoga, kitesurfing, horseback riding or other coastal activities.
🤍 Prefer intimate experiences with a small group, personal attention and space to connect with others without the intensity of a large retreat.
🌎 Are traveling solo, with your partner or with a friend and looking for a meaningful experience in Peru.
You do not need to be an experienced meditator, surfer or psychonaut. What matters is approaching the experience with openness, respect for the Shipibo tradition and a willingness to prepare responsibly.
Participation is subject to screening. Ayahuasca is not suitable for everyone, and this retreat is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.
🤍 AN INTIMATE EXPERIENCE, NOT A CROWD
We intentionally limit each retreat to just 3–5 participants.
In a world of large retreats and groups of 20 or more, we want to preserve the feeling of a small gathering, where there is room for individual attention, genuine human connection and personal space.
You don’t need to pay twice as much for a similar retreat elsewhere, only to find yourself in a large group. Here, you can experience an intimate retreat with experienced Shipibo curanderos, an experienced facilitator and an exceptional beachfront setting.
Before arrival, every participant goes through a screening and preparation process, including an online Zoom call. After the retreat, a post-retreat integration Zoom call provides an opportunity to reflect on the experience and consider how to approach the transition back into everyday life.
We see preparation and integration as important parts of the journey, not simply additions to the ceremonies.
